Jourden+Michael:: Nature's Connection

June 11, 2016  •  Leave a Comment

As we made our way down a remote road, out of nowhere is a luscious garden…Nature’s Connection.  The sun was shining and the venue and all the different water features and floral areas were exploding with color.  There are so many beautiful areas to photograph.
A few men were arranging chairs in an area for the ceremony and decorations  for the reception were being arranging under a tent.  As we entered the bridal suite Jourden and her ‘maids’ were enthusiastically primping and prepping for the days events.  Jourden was calm enjoying her Starbucks’ while intermittently sipping on a mimosa.  She was excited and simply enjoying the process.
We started by photographing the dress, finding a beautiful tree across the yard.  It was a gorgeous Stella York mermaid gown, which she purchased at Laineemeg Bridal in Snohomish.   As we started photographing it the weather started to turn and mist filled the sky.  The tree was the perfect shelter, not a drop hit the dress.   After finishing with the dress we noticed that the mist had quickly turned to huge drops of rain.  Feeling a bit stuck we surrounded the dress with umbrellas and ran back to the suite.  Relieved that the dress was unscathed, we dried off and continued photographing the details.
The rain continued as the groom and groomsmen arrived.  Everyone was in good spirits despite the unknown of weather we would continue the day under a tent or be able to use the grounds.  Michael was concerned as he wanted the day to be perfect for his bride but soon realized with much reassurance that she was content with however the day unfolded!
As Jourden slipped into her dress the sun began to make its appearance.    Michael started to smile and was ecstatic they could have their first look out an about on the grounds.  Michael waited with much anticipation.  Jourden made her way across the lawn and when Michael turned around he was overwhelmed with emotion.   Jourden beamed, Michael cried and could not take his eyes off her!
We managed to get Michael to look at the camera a few times but for the most part taking in how these two love was the goal.  He would gaze at her and could not stop kissing her.  It was so sweet to see how much he absolutely adores her.   They walked and enjoyed some time together and Jourden took in all the compliments Michael was lavishing her with.
We managed to sneak in bridal party photos prior to the ceremony but with the rain delay we were a bit short on time.  Everyone was such good sports…the girls rockin’ their poses and the guys showing off their super hero powers (well shirts…ha).   Guests were arriving and we snuck Jourden away to freshen up.
The ceremony began and it was extremely touching.   With Jourden’s vows including how she knew Michael was the one from the first moment they met, she pledged to love him everyday as she has loved him everyday so far!!  Michael shared his love for her as well with his promise to be hers forever.  Tears filled many of the guests eyes as they listened and knew they were sincere.  They exchanged rings and barely able to wait for the announcement of Mr. & Mrs…Michael leaned in and kissed his bride.
They ran down the aisle grinning from ear to ear.  We finished up family photos as everyone started to enjoy cocktail hour.  The evening light was gorgeous and the perfect setting for some lawn games and mingling around the venue.
As dinner finished, toasts began.  You can tell these two are loved as this was probably the highest number of toasts I have ever witnessed at a wedding.  Michael’s sisters welcoming Jourden to the family and sharing how much they look up to Michael (I mean he is 6’4”).  Jourden’s brother warning Michael about how ‘bad-ass’ Jourden really is!  And both sets of parents expressing their love and appreciation for the couple.
The cake was cut and dancing began…with Eventsource NW as the  MC and DJ this was definitely a party.  Troy always keeps the evening progressing and the crowd entertained.  Dancing was enjoyed by most and the energy was certainly contagious.
As the evening ended sparklers lit the way for Jourden and Michael to get to their getaway car.  They had enjoyed the day fully and were ready to hit their honeymoon destination,  a cruise in the Caribbean.
All the best and much love to you!! You have such loving people supporting you on this journey of life and marriage and we couldn’t be happier for you and all that’s to come!
