It’s Canadian Thanksgiving, so of course in the midst of celebrating over tacos I am also reflecting and super thankful for all I have in my life!  One of them being friends…

Sometimes there are friends in life who arrive out of no where…kind of like angels!  They are not only incredible blessings but they challenge you, push you to be a better you!

As I arrived home one day I got a notification that I was nominated for a contest.  Now I am not big into contests or begging for votes.  I know it can be a great way to get your business name out there and satisfying to ‘win’ something, but I guess I have always just been OK doing what I do and being thankful for the clients and friends that continue to use me for photography. 

In saying that, my friend Stephanie nominated me for the King 5 Best of Western Washington contest.  I have voted for many friends and vendors in past years but have never been part of it myself.   Well thanks to Steph and her confidence in me I am now in the running.  Stephanie & Dom’s wedding was the first wedding I ever photographed and since then they have been some of my biggest cheerleaders.

Stephanie, thank you for pushing me to be part of something that I wouldn’t have probably done myself, for being a friend that challenges me and supports me no matter what…and for having the confidence to know I am not begging for votes but to know that people want to love and support anyway they can!

I am constantly amazed at the wonderful people that have come into my life through photography.  Clients new and old, most of which have become friends and have developed a deeper connection with than just simply taking their photo! 

I am humbled and so thankful.  When I live in a city, state and country far from my own family it has been comforting to have so many that have made it feel like home here!
