Launching Wish to Wed...a way to give some LOVE!

April 25, 2013  •  Leave a Comment

You know those times in life where you meet a few people and just know ‘They are some good peeps’!  I have had the pleasure of connecting with some of those ‘good peeps’ and not only has it been enlightening, and FUN, it’s been a way to give back!

Sarah Swanson, of EVENTful moments Wedding & Event planning, Zerlinda Lochtie, owner and lead designer of Laineemeg Bridal, and Tracy Stocker owner and operator of Hidden Meadows & Trail Side Wedding & Event Venues,  were inspired to start a non-profit organization called Wish to Wed

Wish to Wed allows couples facing serious life-threatening obstacles to concentrate on the issues affecting their lives.  From the venue to the cake, and most everything between, we take care of all the wedding planning and details. In a special ceremony our couples pronounce their ever-lasting love to one another, surrounded by their closest family and friends.

It is our hope that we can provide help to those facing life threatening situations, while celebrating the eternal commitment of marriage.

We recognize there are many couples, due to physical and financial limitations, who are never exposed to opportunities and possibilities that exist in our community by granting dreams to our couples.  Wish to Wed creates an opportunity they may not otherwise receive.

What better way to create awareness than by throwing a Launch Party!  The support from the community was amazing and the evening was an absolute blast! These ladies have started something incredible and I can't wait to see where it goes. They are announcing their first couple on May 1st!

They included a reception dinner, a mock bouquet & garter toss, a few speeches and of course dancing!  One of the speeches was given by Eric Walter, a PR “guy” with a company called Z2.  After losing his wife to breast cancer only a few months after they were married he is in full support of Wish to Wed.  It was infectious to hear of his strength and ambition.

Thanks to all the vendors who participated in making this happen! Click here to view more of the nights shenanigans!
