He saw her across the room and like slow motion they moved towards each other and knew it was love…insert record scratch here and Allison and Pat’s real life story. Pat is one of the owners at Diamond Knot Brewery and Allison works for a beer distributor so it was only natural that at some point beer would bring them together! And it did! Ok so maybe there was no record scratch but definitely fireworks as Allie asked to meet the ‘hot brewer guy’ at a Christmas party in 2006.

Allie and Pat became fast friends and Pat finally officially asked Allie out…he asked her out on the town but she loved their friendship and didn’t want to ruin anything. After a bit of wine (and maybe some beer??) she decided to reconsider and asked Pat if she could change her mind, on one condition, that they stay in for their first date as she is a ‘cook at home’ kind of gal!!

Cinco de Mayo will mark seven years that they have been together and Allie will never forget their first date, at home, where Pat made chicken tacos and STROOOONG margaritas!!
Margaritas may have been their drink of choice on their first date but Pat crafted a beer that is ‘purported to be the beer that made Allie fall in love with Pat’. Front Street Bitter is ‘pale in color yet aggressively hopped’…maybe just a couple of things Allie loves about him??

Allie was completely happy and content in their relationship. Then it happened…one evening at dinner one of Pats friends, Jeff asked if Allie ever thought about getting married. Allie, super content replied ‘I don’t want to put too much pressure on Pat…’ Just then she turned around and Pat had a ring…the ring…and right there at Diamond Knot Brewery, down on one knee, on a floor of peanut shells, Pat said ‘Is this too much pressure?’. Tears filled Allies eyes…happy tears and as she tried to catch her breath and yell out “YES”! The bartender jumped up on the bar to make the announcement and there wasn’t a dry eye in the place!

As Allie told this story again, tears welled up in her eyes. Pat looked at her with compassion knowing he has made her one ecstatic woman!! Thrilled to be planning to share the rest of their lives together you can tell they are meant to be!
Although they don’t work together…when Allie suggested that we do their engagement session at the distribution plant it seemed like the perfect fIt as this is such an important part of their life!! It’s a place they both know well! They love to laugh together and certainly don’t take themselves too seriously despite the American goth-like images we were trying to immolate! We tried to make use of the different areas of the plant including having them climb into the hopper! We did end up at Mukilteo beach near one of their restaurants to end the session.

Despite the cold wind and rain they we managed to get a few outdoor photos and even get Pat into a pair of pants rather than shorts that he tends to sport year round. (Not the same pair just shorts in general).
Allie & Pat, we are so excited for your Mukilteo beach wedding in August!! Knowing how much you both love each other I know it’s going to be a gorgeous day!!
