Finding Routine in your Travels...

July 08, 2013  •  2 Comments

More and more I realize I am a creature of habit. Even while in Rome I get up walk past the same outdoor aromatic flower cart and down the street to the same coffee Bar. Are there other coffee shops?...sure...why did I constistantly choose this one? I don't know...I just did!!
Maybe it was the smile from the barista who only spoke Italian, maybe it was the authentic music they played at 7 am (White Snake), possibly the view of the colosseum OR just the way the sun slowly filled the street with it's rays...sweeping up all that was from the night before.

Although a flower can't choose it's color I realize with each new morning we can choose our path.

I could've chosen another coffee shop...but I didn't. I could've walked around a different block...and sometimes I did! I chose to get up, smile and enjoy all the God created and all that was here to enjoy! So much history lives in Rome!

We all our creatures of habit...even watching the employees of the Colesseum Bar and Cafe do the same morning setup of tables and chairs-balancing them so diligently to not have them rock on the cobblestone street. To set up the same umbrellas day in and day out not complaining but knowing the shade and temporary comfort it will provide their customers.

Speaking of routine, even roaming the streets yesterday we came across 2 weddings...I couldn't resist, call it the paparazzi like nature in me...I had to snag a couple of pics.

I love to travel and see the world, of course I tend to document it in a gazillion photos...however we all long for routine...whether its in rural Saskatchewan, Seattle or across the world in Italy...we all have it...and I think in the end we all need it...

Love these pictures! I am most certain that in your routine, you built great anticipation in the barista at the coffee shop and the person working at the flower shop. They would wake up and say I sure hope she comes by today!! You brighten everyones day with your beautiful smile and wonderful way.
