“Joi to my world” that is what Jess is to me…
It started almost 10 years ago, we met at church, saw each other once in a while then decided she should get a job in the crazy escrow world where I worked. However we had so many Jessica’s that worked at our company the only way she could come on board is by going by her middle name “Joi”. She was game for anything and being that her mother in laws name is Joy, she thought maybe the world could handle two Joy Caskeys. Hence, her becoming “Joi to my world”.
The name has stuck and although “Jess” completely suits her I find myself still calling her Joi. She truly is joyful. She has more energy than most people combined and a great attitude on life.
Her talent and passion is Graphic design. Having worked for Tully’s, Costco and The Bellevue Collection, she now freelances full time. It seems to work well with being a full time stay at home mom to a very active 2 year old…Mr. Beckem Rae.
So just to give you a bit more of a background…Jess has always been super trendy, not afraid to try new styles or break the mold. Although I love my tank top, cardigan, and scarf ensemble she has pushed me to find new patterns and colors and throw it all together. She is truly someone who can rock any style and DOES!!! I love that about her. Now what does that mean for her son…yep more style…colored jeans, and little leather coats and don’t get me started on the hats. The kid has a wide variety of hats and KEEPS THEM ON…WHAT…what kid does that!? And all of it pairs nicely with those ice blue eyes!!
Saying all of this to say I believe this is what makes her great at creating. Not only is she trendy but it totally translates into her work. I am at awe how she comes up with new designs and styles and what kind of designs she can make from a blank canvas! Speaking of canvas…she paints. I mean could the girl have any more talents…(and she sings but it’s hard to find a good karaoke place these days so I rarely get to hear her).
I often watch Jess in amazement. Her energy is contagious and her zeal for life is inspiring. Since leaving the ‘corporate’ work worlds we have found a real comradery in our friendship. She inspires me to find balance. Watching her juggle motherhood, working from home, & friendships it confirms that we all need friends…good friends. Ones that know you aren’t perfect and it’s “OK”! Ones that know you will make mistakes and love you anyway.
All of these things make her FANTABULOUS…which I believe makes her work that much more special and unique. I want to thank her for designing my logo and for all of the design work she has done for me. She is truly gifted and I feel blessed to know her!! She is a huge encouragement and I hope this feature shares a little insight into the giant amount of love I have for her!! Her work is unique so check out her stuff on Caskey Design!
Could this family have more style!!???
