Kayla is that girl…the beautiful blonde with the cutest laugh. And it has never gone unnoticed by Zack! Once you hear it you know it’s her everytime she enters the room. Zack is low key…already anticipating that marriage is about Kayla’s happiness and in that he was all about her having the best wedding day possible.
They had rented the venue Grand Willows in Mount Vernon. An Inn where everything was at the same location and the mile radius around it was full of vast photo opportunities.
We got to the venue prior to the bridal party and as we entered the bridal suite upstairs it was as if Kayla’s dress was singing to us. A clean white room and hanging in the window was her perfectly blush gown. Somehow that moment set a tone for the day…peaceful!
They decided on a first look and there was no better place than a small field area out back. Zack was a bit nervous but it didn’t take long once seeing Kayla for him to embrace her and be all smiles!
We added the bridal party and decided to save the fields around the venue for later in the afternoon after the ceremony. The ceremony was performed by a close friend and after realizing Kayla and Zack kiss awfully fast, Tyler instructed Zack to cease the moment after the ‘I Do’s’ and make sure his kiss counted! He did just that. They pledged their love and became Mr. & Mrs. Sears and with that Zack sealed it with a kiss that was perfect…or so Kayla admitted to later ;)
Shortly into the reception we were able to take in some random areas, a mix of trees and fields and of course some good ol’ fashioned dirt. Later we had the perfect sunset sky over the Skagit River! Zack now knows when I say ‘one more photo’ I really mean 100…you both were such troopers!
We made it back to the venue (literally a 30 second drive) just in time to cut the cake…and yep it was the most delicious amazing cake I have ever tasted!! And yes I eat cake at my clients weddings…I am not sure what Trish did but both the white and the gluten free were incredibly yummy (and yes, ok, I had 2 pieces).
The gardens at the Grand Willows is so beautiful and with it being a lovely summer evening the wedding seemed to migrate outside. Dancing ended a bit early and Kayla and Zack were ready to get home and packed for their next adventure….HAWAII.
These two could hardly wait to get on the plane and are now sippin’ Mai Tai’s as husband and wife.
Thank you for having us photograph your wedding…I love your love!!
