It was a match made on the golf course. From the first golf lesson Christal was hooked…on Shayne that is. 6 years later they are husband and wife.
Dairyland, a rustic Snohomish venue, served as the perfect backdrop for Christal & Shayne’s end of May wedding. The weather was a blend of a cool start with a warm afternoon and a glistening sunset! Any type of barn or distressed wood as a backdrop feels like heaven to me!
They started with a first look. It’s always fun to catch the grooms nervous and excited smile as he sees his bride for the first time. Shayne was stunned…and frankly could not get enough of her and how that dress fit her so well! After taking a few moments to have them relax and breathe…we ventured around the property trying to avoid most of the hot midday sun. Christal has this amazing ability to laugh and make some interesting faces at the same time. All the while Shayne is un-phased and smiles along side of her. They are so natural together and I must say her candidness relaxes everyone!! They didn’t want to kiss prior to the ceremony…although I think Shayne was just trying to avoid her sticky lip gloss…either way it kind of made it a fun challenge as we navigated our way through the photos!
As the ceremony approached Christal took a few minutes to regroup! She noted the charm of her late father on her bouquet accompanied by her grandmother’s string of pearls. It fit in perfect with the fresh blooms and seemed only fitting for him to be with her on this special day. Her mom was walking her down the aisle and couldn’t be more thrilled to “give her away”…knowing Shayne is the best person for Christal!
EVENTful Moments did an amazing job with the décor at Dairyland.
Shayne’s brother Aaron officiated and had some lovely words for the couple. After exchanging vows and rings they each poured a vase of sand into a picture frame as a symbol of them joining their lives together. After the ceremony they were ready to leave but decided to stay and dance and party for a bit! (kidding who leaves a reception before it starts).
The reception was filled with toasts from the full bridal party. Brothers of the groom, bridesmaids and a friend that has grown up with Christal so much they call themselves sisters. The love & support for these two is very evident in the kind words and tears that so easily flowed.
After the first dance and cake cutting we were blessed with a gorgeous pacific NW sunset. As the sun dissipated over the Snohomish Valley we caught a few of the rays with Christal and Shayne. Christal was definitely excited for sunset photos and I am always interested to see how they turn out with the various backgrounds. I really wanted them to climb up on a rooftop however, since that wasn’t happening we found an area that seemed to work. The grass this time of year is rather tall but with the tree farms below I love how some of them look like a vineyard type setting in the distance.
As the sun slipped away the bride and groom joined their 22 nieces and nephews on the dance floor. Between so many little family members and Shayne bustin’ out “The Worm”…the dance floor never really had a dull moment.
They were swept away in a white Rolls Royce but not without first running through the sea of sparklers that lined the parking lot. They were tired, happy and in love. Happy Wedding Day you two…can’t wait for many more exciting milestones in your life!!
